Apple reportedly giving up on Apple TV+ as an exclusive streamer

Must read

Apple TV+ is home to some great shows including Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Severance, and Silo, as well as Oscar-winning original film Coda and Martin Scorcese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. However, the unfortunate reality is that no one is watching Apple TV+, and with production budgets for movies and TV shows reaching the hundreds of millions every quarter, it’s clear that the service is burning quite a hole in Apple’s overall budget.

However, according to Bloomberg, Apple may have found a way to stop the bleeding and has hired an executive to license its original productions to other companies. This would be a double positive as sales of the content would increase revenue for the Apple TV+ segment, and the overall visibility of Apple TV+ shows and movies content could also be improved, potentially getting more users to sign up in the future.

We’ve actually seen this happen before, most recently with AMC+, which moved the first seasons of both Interview with the Vampire and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon to Netflix in an effort to get users to check out the second seasons of these shows, which remain exclusive to AMC+. Could this strategy work similarly for Apple? Let us know what you think below!
