The iPhone 15 comes in five colors, some of them pale, some brighter. But the Pro versions are all in understated shades, designed to make the most of the new titanium edging. All very well, but what if you want something brighter? A new report claims the next Pro iPhones may have something to please you.
This fall’s iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will offer a new color, called Rose, according to a new report from OvO Baby Sauce OvO. That source is relatively new but is gaining some traction, and the claim matches earlier reports, according to MacRumors.
Note that this is rose, not rose gold, which has been an iPhone color in the past, though not for a Pro model yet.
Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had suggested that the current blue titanium color would be dropped this fall and a new rose titanium option would appear in its place. So this new report corroborates that.
There have also been reports that the iPhone 16 Pro will use the same color infusion process found on the iPhone 15. This has resulted in shades which are subtle and pale—in some lights it’s hard to tell yellow, green and blue apart.
But there’s one option which really shines, which really catches the eye, and that’s the pink version. In which case, maybe the rose iPhone 16 Pro hue will be similarly arresting.
The fifth iPhone 15 color, by the way, is black, which is obviously not a garish shade on any phone.
As for the iPhone 16 Pro series, it’s likely that whatever they are called, the shades will be different from the current models, even if only subtly different. Apple likes to update its range annually, with discreet changes even if the name remains the same—even PRODUCT(RED) shades have changed in consecutive years.
It’s already been rumored that the iPhone 16 series will replace yellow with white, leaving the other four shades of black, green, blue and pink in place.
How different, how outspoken, a rose phone with titanium edge band will be is unknown. We’ll know in less than two months.
