Apart From Holitstic Wellness, Kareena Kapoor And Saif Ali Khan’s Fitness Goal Is To “Eat Pizza And Run Together”

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan might be ardent fitness enthusiasts but they are die-hard foodies too and we got a glimpse of the couple’s fitness style with Kareena’s latest Instagram post. On a bright summer’s day, while on holiday in the UK, the couple treated themselves to cheesy pizzas and went out for a run to shed those extra pounds. After all, “Couples Who Eat Pizza And Run Together” stay together, or so the caption on Kareena’s carousel post that documented their fitness-cum-foodie adventure, seems to suggest. On their trip, Saifeena — as fans love to call them — made the most of their weekday by neither compromising their workout routine nor denying themselves a scrumptious holiday feast.

The first picture in the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star’s carousel series featured the couple soaking in some Vitamin D while Kareena‘s “wellness” emblazoned grey sweatshirt reinforced her commitment to mind and body fitness. A delicious click of a crispy pepperoni pizza came next followed by a video of Kareena and Saif walking hand-in-hand, with only their shadows captured in the frame.  “Better Together” bands featured on Kareena’s wrist in the last slide sealing their couple style and likely even their commitment to working out together.

Incorporating running and walking outdoors into your fitness regimen has umpteen benefits. They are a great way to burn calories, improve your mood, boost Vitamin D levels, promote better sleep, and enhance the immune system, to name a few. But “couple workouts” have other advantages. These are known to increase motivation for a more consistent routine. What’s more, couple workout routines have been reported to significantly reduce relationship stress and increase the emotional bond between partners.

While we may not have many examples of the couple working out together, Kareena Kapoor’s social media feed is peppered with evidence of her dedication to holistic fitness. She demonstrated her prowess with an effortless display of the Chakrasana in another Instagram sneak peek. “Do you have a (yoga) pose that keeps you on your toes?” she asked in the caption.  The Chakrasana or the wheel pose is purported to improve blood flow throughout the body, while also boosting flexibility and strengthening the core. 

We would do well to point out here that Saif Ali Khan and the couple’s kids are no strangers to holistic fitness either. Last year on International Yoga Day, Kareena shared a picture that captured Saif performing the Phalakasana with their son Jeh. The couple’s elder son Taimur was seen practicing boxing on a stand. “It all starts on a mat. Heal, Inspire, Love. Keep Moving,” read Kareena’s caption.
