Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Ping Wo Fund will launch a citywide anti-gambling campaign in mid-June in anticipation of UEFA EURO 2024.
The campaign, “Stop Gambling. Be the Wise Man of the Match,” is aimed at raising public awareness of gambling-related problems and promoting anti-gambling messages.
A series of district-level and territory-wide events and activities will be held from mid-June to mid-July, including a fun day, a football workshop and thematic exhibitions.
Anti-gambling messages will be displayed before and after live broadcasts to remind people to stay away from gambling.
A Ping Wo Truck will tour schools to educate about the harms caused by gambling addiction through multimedia and interactive games.
The four rehabilitation and counseling centers for gamblers financed by the Fund will step up the services, such as extending the service hours of the Gambling Counselling Hotline (183 4633), responding to online messages and organizing more outreach activities.
