Highlights
- Half-Life 3 rumors are back on the menu, and this time they are a lot more credible.
- A voice actress named Natasha Chandel happens to have Project White Sands on her online resume, which is being produced by none other than Valve.
- White Sands happens to be a real-life place in New Mexico, the same place where Black Mesa is.
- Chandel is a real-life actress with multiple video game credits, including Starfield and Call of Duty, so any rumor of a potential Valve project should carry a bit more weight.
OK, stop us if you’ve heard this before, but rumors about Half-Life 3 may have just leaked online. However, this time they are a lot more credible.
As first spotted on Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, a voice actress named Natasha Chandel has a mysterious Valve project on her online resume. Chandel has several video game credits to her name, including Starfield and Call of Duty: Vanguard, among others which can be found on her official IMDb page. In other words, this isn’t some made-up person.

The resume, which is still accessible via her official website, lists a project titled: Project White Sands. It’s listed as a video game with a TBA release date. And its developer is Valve.

The website, which is largely inaccessible on a mobile device and partly obstructed on desktop, clearly lists the projects she has been part of, the part she played and the company responsible for them. Many of those projects can then be verified online, like her role in Starfield.
Why This Might Be Half-Life 3 For Real This Time
Now that we set the stage for how this rumor came to be, it’s important to highlight how this all connects to Half-Life. The project is titled White Sands. White Sands happens to be an actual place in New Mexico, with a National Park to boot.
You know what else is in New Mexico? That’s right, Black Mesa. The same setting of where the game got its start. Do you see where we’re going with this?

Now, of course, this could be a nothingburger and Half-Life 3 never finally materializes. Or, this is the first step in what will be a dream come true for tons of gamers. And in the worst case, then, at least Valve has another video game in the works.
As one user eloquently put it on Reddit: “HL3 copium is back boys.” And we are inclined to agree, Half-Life 3, at least for the time being, is back in the minds of us all. Hopefully, it’s real this time.
