Anna Faris’ $5M Pacific Palisades mansion burns to the ground in devastating fire

Must read

Hollywood movie star Anna Faris has lost her mansion during the devastating Pacific Palisades, California fire which has burned over 5,000 acres.

The 4,000 square foot home, which she snapped up for almost $5M in 2019, was seen charred to its foundation in new images.

Every wall of the massive property was in ashes as it was difficult to make out the basic structure of the dwelling.

All that was still standing were some mature trees that lined the property, though their leaves were burned off.

The outline of her swimming pool could be seen, but it seemed to have no water in it as it must have evaporated during the blaze.

There was no car in the driveway or outside the home which hints it was fully evacuated before the fire swept down the street.

Faris purchased the home after she split from Jurassic World actor Chris Pratt and they sold their shared Hollywood Hills home in 2018.

It was near a corner lot property.

Interestingly, the houses across the street were not burned down and still had their foliage intact, even the lawn.

The Mom star reportedly bought the Pacific Palisades home in 2019 in an off-market deal.

According to Architectural Digest it was originally constructed as a spec house.

The previous owner then renovated the property to make it a LEED-certified home, with solar-powered utilities, an advanced water filtration-recycling system, and a garage with a Tesla charger, it was also claimed.

The modern-looking two-story house was white with wood accents for a more natural feel. And there were floor to ceiling windows to let light in.

There were tall hedges all around the home making it hidden from the street for added privacy.

Other details of the home were a long walkway and a courtyard filled with greenery; there was also a swimming pool and spa by a lounge and dining area.

The house also had several terraces and a fireplace.

Her Guardians of the Galaxy star ex is now married to Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Anna is best known for playing comedic roles. She rose to prominence with the lead part of Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie film series. And she was also on the sitcom Mom.

Pacific Palisades, dotted with palatial hillside estates, is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and buffeted by the Santa Monica Mountains.

With its median home price of $4.5 million, it is home to many film and music stars as well as the Getty Villa, one of the most popular museums in Los Angeles.

Several other actors have lost their homes like James Woods and Spencer Pratt.

Jamie Lee Curtis shared that she had to evacuate and she did not know if her house had burned down.

Woods cried about his lost home on CNN.

The day after Woods evacuated his house  he described the scene as an ‘inferno’ where ‘every house around us was on fire.’

‘We were literally in the exact epicenter of the fire as it started,’ Woods, an award-winning actor known for roles in ‘Salvador,’ ‘Ghosts of Mississippi’ and ‘Any Given Sunday,’ said on CNN on Wednesday. ‘There was so much chaos. It was like an inferno.’

Strong, dry winds have fanned the blaze burning around Pacific Palisades, and the area’s narrow, winding streets combined with the rush of thousands of people ordered to evacuate have created long delays and traffic jams for those trying to escape the wildfire. Some evacuees abandoned their cars on Tuesday.

Among those caught in the traffic was actor Eugene Levy of the television series Schitt´s Creek.

‘I couldn’t see any flames but the smoke was very dark,’ he told the Los Angeles Times.

Mandy Moore, known for her role in the television series This is Us, posted on Instagram that she and her family had evacuated because of the proximity of the flames.

‘So gutted for the destruction and loss,’ she said. ‘Don´t know if our place made it.’

Reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their Pacific Palisades home in the wildfire.

Pratt shared a video on Instagram earlier in the day of a plane dropping water on a mountainside engulfed with smoke.

Several other fires – along with the Palisades blaze – are burning around the city.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency and officials have warned that the wildfires are unpredictable and remain out of control.

‘This is a dynamic situation,’ Kathryn Barger, a member of Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, said at a news conference on Wednesday. ‘We’ve got fires throughout the entire county, which are spreading our resources very short.’

The wildfires prompted organizers of Hollywood’s Screen Actors Guild Awards to cancel a live announcement of its nominations on Wednesday. City authorities also blocked public access to the famous Hollywood sign in the hills above Los Angeles.

Actor Mark Hamill, known for playing Luke Skywalker in the ‘Star Wars’ films, said the blaze was the ‘most horrific’ since 1993.

He said on Instagram that he evacuated his home in Malibu around 7 p.m. on Tuesday with his family.

‘There small fires on both sides of the road as we approached,’ the Pacific Coast Highway, he said.
