Hollywood legend Angelina Jolie has continued to spark speculation of a new romance in her life after being joined by her rumoured beau at a film premiere this week.
Angelina, 49, was joined by British rapper Akala, 40, at the premiere of opera singer biopic Maria, at the 68th BFI London Film Festival.
The pair have been linked since first being pictured leaving her hotel together during the Venice Film Festival in August.
Earlier this month, they continued to fuel speculation after the musician, poet, and activist attended a party in New York hosted by Angelina for her company, Atelier Jolie.
However, sources have continued to insist that they are just good friends – sharing similar interests in their humanitarian work.
The pair cut striking figures on the red carpet on Friday and were both looking suave dressed in all-black as they celebrated the premiere of her new film.
The Eternals star wore a black blazer with matching trousers and a low-cut blouse, accessorising with gold drop earrings and a pair of boots.
Rapper Akala, real name Kingslee James McLean Daley, paired a dark roll neck with a blazer, skinny cut trousers and trainers, finishing the outfit with a grey and navy scarf.
Elsewhere, she was pictured with director Pablo LarraÃn and other members of the cast as they shared the film with UK audiences for the first time.
While Angelina and Akala are said to have shared dinner together at Soho House, the pair left separately – Angelina via the back door, while he exited through the front, along with friend Chanelle.
Sources previously shut down rumours of Akala and Angelina’s relationship, with one pointing out to TMZ that he and Chanelle are together, and that the three of them are simply good friends – highlighting that she was with him in Venice at the time.
‘She and Akala are not dating. She is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle, who was also there,’ another source told People.
‘They share the same passion when it comes to social and humanitarian causes. They did several collabs over the years that focus on global issues like human rights. Angie speaks very highly of him,’ said a third source.
Prior to her marriage to actor Brad Pitt, Angelina was also married to Hollywood stars Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
After filing from divorce from Brad in 2016, the Mr. and Mrs. Smith star became linked to rapper The Weeknd – having been spotted sharing dinner together in 2021. However, their relationship was never confirmed.
In September, Angelina brought her family along to the New York premiere of the film, with sons Pax and Maddox putting on a united front alongside daughter Zahara – whom she shares with actor Brad – as they celebrated their mum’s new movie.
Also present was Akala, who was spotted as he arrived at the event, where he was greeted by the Maleficent star and son Maddox.
The upcoming Netflix film stars Angelina as renowned opera diva Maria Callas, following the renowned star’s tragic final days in 1970s Paris.
The drama marks the third film in the Chilean director’s trilogy about iconic women – following in the footsteps of 2016’s Jackie Kennedy biopic, and his 2021 film about Princess Diana.
Maria will be released in select cinemas on November 27 and will premiere on Netflix on December 11, before dropping in UK cinemas on January 10, 2025.
