Amy Castano: How I built a multimillion-dollar fitness empire

Must read

Amy Castano has revealed how she went from climbing the corporate ladder in finance to running a multimillion-dollar fitness empire with ex husband Jono Castano.

Appearing on the cover of Women’s Fitness magazine, the Sydney starlet, 33, who founded the celebrity gym Acero with her ex, spoke about her journey to fame.

‘I think entrepreneurship is in my blood. I grew up watching my father run his own company and ever since I was super young, I was always thinking of ways to do things differently,’ Amy told the magazine.

Her entrepreneurial spirit was evident from a young age.

By the time she reached the legal working age, she had already realised her preference for independence.

Pursuing higher education, Amy completed a six-year double degree and launched her career in finance.

Concurrently, she dabbled in fashion, selling dresses on Instagram, which took off unexpectedly.

Health and wellness have always been pivotal in Castano’s life, instilled by her parents who emphasised the importance of good health.

‘Throughout my youth and all the way up until today, my parents were big on teaching me that you can’t do much unless you have good health, so I’ve always been conscious of making sure I’m getting in good food and exercise – That’s where my passion comes from,’ she explained.

The journey to establishing Acero wasn’t without its challenges.

‘Of course, self-doubt creeps in whether you like to acknowledge it or not.

‘In my case, the way in which we started ACERO during the Covid lockdowns meant that we were thrown into an opportunity where we had to move and adapt fast, so I didn’t really have time to think or plan which I think was a blessing in disguise,’ Amy reflected.
