Should you have to good fortune to be reading this at Wimbledon and find yourself suffering from a perishing thirst then you might want to be warned that your wallet could soon be emptied.
Nobody looks at Wimbledon and reckons it’s a cheap venue but some of the prices on the menus have been startling folks, especially given what you paid for last time around.
Basking in what classes at British sunshine on Henman Hill, Murray Mound or whatever you want to call it while watching some spiffingly good tennis sounds like a lovely way to spend one’s time, albeit an expensive one.
People have been sharing pictures of the Wimbledon drinks menu and some of the drinks on there would have yer da’s eyes popping out of his head as he yelled ‘how much’.
This time around it looks like a pint of Stella Artois, the competition’s sponsor, will set you back £8.50.

Last year, that same quaffable beverage was £7.55, and it’s gone up by two quid in the past two years in total.
We do occasionally warn that the cost of a pint in London is climbing incredibly high but the price inflation at England’s premiere tennis competition is quite something to see.
Those among you who are fiends for a Gin and Tonic will be dismayed to know that your preferred tipple will cost you almost a tenner.
However, one thing that’s stayed the same since 2010 is the cost of a portion of strawberries and cream.
That’s been £2.50 for yonks and is the food most people associate with Wimbledon.

If these prices seem too much for you then remember that you can bring your own food and drink to Wimbledon.
However, the All England Tennis Club would like to stress to sports fans that they can’t rock up with deckchairs and a picnic basket and set themselves up on the hill.
There’s a limit on the containers you can bring in such as flasks and coolers, though you’re fine to bring in food in decent quantity.
As for drinks, you can bring in either one bottle of wine or champagne, or two cans of beer or two cans of aperitifs per person.
You’re not allowed to bring spirits into Wimbledon though, so do check their handy guide and make sure you’re not being turned away upon entry.
Among all the drinks, food and merriment do remember to enjoy the tennis as well, it’s rather stellar at Wimbledon.
Oh, and pick up your litter as well otherwise they get to feed you to the wombles.
