Assemble, bargain hunters – Amazon’s 48-hour October Prime Day is here. It kicked off with a bang this morning and will run until. tomorrow (9 October) evening at 11:59pm.
As with every Prime Day, there are savings on everything from TVs and laptops to beauty and home appliances, including vacuum cleaners, heated clothes airers and dehumidifiers,. Tech from Apple, home essentials and electric toothbrushes from Oral-B have seen their prices plummet too.
The retailer has of course also slashed the price of its own-brand gadgets – think Fire TV Sticks, Kindle tablets, Echo smart speakers and even its Ring video doorbells. But the best deal I’ve seen so far (and one I’d really recommend) is this fantastic deal on the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds, which have been slashed to their lowest-ever price.
To keep you constantly updated, I’m busy hunting down the very best discounts throughout the sale. But remember, you need to be a Prime subscriber if you want to take part.
Elevate your fitness with this Fitbit Charge 6 deal
I’ve tested out a bunch of fitness trackers over the years, and the Fitbit Charge 6 is the one I told my dear mother to get when she wanted something to help track her dog walks and trips to the gym. It’s currently discounted by 22 per cent at Amazon.
Fitbit Charge 6 fitness tracker: Was £139.99, now £109, Amazon.co.uk
The Fitbit charge 6 supports whatever workout you favour, linking to treadmills, exercise bikes and rowing machines with smart Bluetooth technology. Not only that, it measures your heart rate, oxygen levels, stress and sleep. It’s clever in other ways too, with built-in Google apps, so you can listen to music, map a route and access your Google wallet to make payments on the go. Comfy and lightweight with a silicone strap and hardwearing face, it’s the perfect investment for those looking to upgrade their fitness game this Prime Day.

Save £50 on ghd’s cult helios hairdryer
Ensuring you’re never late in the morning, the beauty team at The Independent love ghd. Its hair dryers are the beauty world’s worst-kept-secret for a sleek, straight blow dried look. The helios model is even used in professional salons – and now you can save nearly 30 per cent for Prime Day.
ghd helios hair dryer: Was £179, now £129.99, Amazon.co.uk
Beauty writer Lauren Cunningham has tested out loads of hairdryers, and she’s a big fan of the helios. “With claims of giving your hair 30 per cent more shine, I was dubious at first but, so far, I can’t fault it,” she said in her review.

There’s a 23% discount on the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro
We always go on and on about AirPods, but what about the Android crowd, I hear you cry. What about those with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone? Well here you go.
Samsung Galaxy buds3 pro wireless earbuds: Was £219, now £169, Amazon.co.uk
This one isn’t a Prime Day offer, so anyone can take advantage of this 23 per cent saving on Samsung’s all-new Galaxy Buds3 Pro wireless earbuds. Rated a solid four out of five in David’s round-up of the best wireless earbuds, the Galaxy buds3 pro have “excellent” active noise-cancelling according to our resident tech expert. They work the best with Samsung smartphones, so look away iPhone users.

Save 33% on the 4K version of the Fire TV Stick
While the £19.99 Fire TV Stick deal is frankly astonishing, it has one flaw. Though it can play content in Full HD, it’s not 4K. For that, you need the Fire TV Stick 4K, which is (thankfully) also on sale.
The small device slots into your TV’s HDMI port and delivers access to all of your favourite streaming services in ultra-high-definition. If you’re an Amazon Prime member of course you can tuck into the best TV and film streaming has to offer. Even better, it can control compatible smart home devices, such as cameras and lights – all with the touch of a button (or the sound of your voice if you’re using the Alexa voice remote).

Save £120 on the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones this Prime Day
Sony’s flagship over-ear wireless headphones comfortably hold the top spot in my review of the best wireless headphones, and they’re currently discounted to one of their lowest prices this Prime Day. Best part? Anyone can grab this deal – it’s not locked to Prime members.
Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones: Was £379, now £260, Amazon.co.uk
With next-generation features and impressive noise cancellation, I can attest to their quality. “Whether it’s orchestral music, rap, podcasts or your favourite pop tracks, the WH-1000XM5 handle it all with poise and gumption,” I said in my review. “They never miss a beat”.

Save 19% on the Furbo dog camera
Wondering what your four legged friend gets up to while you’re away from home? This is a deal on Furbo’s 360 dog camera, a treat-tossing surveillance tool, that you won’t want to pass up. Cheaper than it was on Prime Day in July, now’s the time to pick one up.
This is the latest and greatest version of the Furbo dog camera, and it’s fixed the one issue we complained about in the previous generation of the pet-friendly device. Now with a freely-positioning camer, the new wide-angle lens rotates to show more of the room and your furry friend. Other features include motion and barking alerts, and of course, its pawsome treat-tossing tech. Yes, this camera actually fires treats out at the tap of a button.

This Dyson airwrap alternative from Shark has plummeted in price
Many beauty brands have attempted to take on Dyson’s cult airwrap but few have succeeded. That is, until Shark launched the flexstyle air styler. Already more affordable than the airwrap, the gadget has now been reduced to its lowest price this Prime Day.
The Independent’s senior shopping writer Daisy compared the flexstyle to the airwrap last year, calling it “powerful, fast-drying and fully-functioning hairdryer, complete with a style concentrator and diffuser”. It’s versatile thanks to its five different attachments and “perhaps the best airwrap dupe you can buy”. With over 30 per cent off, there’s no better time to get your hair looking its best.

this smart ring has received a 17% discount
Smart rings are all the rage right now, and while Oura is about to release a fourth-generation Oura ring, and Samsung has recently launched its own Galaxy ring, I’m a big fan of Ultrahuman’s, who has just discounted its smart ring for Prime Day.
Ultrahuman ring air smart ring: Was £316.88, now £263.02, Amazon.co.uk
With a 17 per cent discount, the Ultrahuman ring air is now cheaper than both the Oura ring and the Samsung Galaxy ring, and it has no subscription fee. “The ring looks sleek, minimalistic and is made from a durable titanium. It is kitted out with a heart-rate sensor, temperature sensor and accelerometer, and it can monitor everything from steps to sleep to blood-oxygen levels,” I said in my review.
