Amazon just announced stunning new Fire TVs and they’re already slashed in price

If you have a Fire TV Stick plugged into the back of your television to access all the latest TV shows and films but you feel like your whole living room set up is in need of an upgrade then the latest release from Amazon could give you a way to overhaul your whole experience with just one device.

Amazon has just announced two new collections of 4K TVs that promise high resolution displays, including the most advanced screens the firm has ever sold.

The Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series comes in 55-, 65- and 75-inch versions that are on sale for the introductory prices of £649.99, £949.99 and £1,299 respectively, right in time for Black Friday. Their regular retail prices from 2 December will be £849.99, £1,149 and £1,599.

These TVs use what’s known as QLED mini-LED displays that offer better contrast, brightness and picture quality compared to cheaper, regular LED TVs. This tech “optimises picture quality, audio, and performance to deliver the most powerful and innovative Amazon-built TV yet”, according to Amazon.

Amazon claims the new tellies can reach peak brightness levels of 1,400 nites, support Dolby Vision OQ and HDR10+ Adaptive visual standards and have “Intelligent Picture technology” that is said to use artificial intelligence to make whatever is on the screen look as good as possible. This works by sensing the ambient lighting of the room and adjusting the picture accordingly.

You’ll also be able to use the large TVs as frames for art thanks to the “Fire TV Ambient Experience” that can display artwork when not in use. If you prefer, you can use the screens in standby to display useful information such as the weather forecast.

And, because this is an Amazon TV, you’ll get Fire OS built in, which will act just like a Fire TV Stick. This operating system gives you access to all your favourite streaming apps from Amazon Prime Video to Netflix, Disney+ to BBC iPlayer.

“The lineup features built-in far-field technology so you can find apps, discover shows and movies, manage playback, and control the Fire TV Ambient Experience hands-free using just your voice with Alexa,” Amazon said.

Gamers should also be covered thanks to a variable refresh rate that can ramp up to a super-smooth 144Hz, as well as an auto low latency mode that fights against lag. With Wi-Fi 6E supported, you will be able to get these extra fast online streaming speeds, if your router is compatible.

Alongside these new high-end TVs, Amazon also announced its new Fire TV 4-Series, a more affordable set of 43-, 50- and 55-inch 4K LED tellies that are on sale for £279.99, £329.99 and £379.99 respectively as part of a similar introductory offer to their pricier counterparts.

The tech giant also has a new Fire TV Soundbar Plus that offers a way to massively upgrade the sound possible through any of the new TVs’ built-in speakers.
