Amazon Fire 7 Tablet (2022 release), £64.99 to £42.99

Priced at £42.99, down from £64.99, the Fire 7 tablet combines affordability with functionality.

The Sun’s Senior Writer Matt Breen, recently covered a noteworthy deal on the larger 11-inch Fire tablet, which has seen a reduction from £250 to £165 just this week.

As Matt pointed out, these unexpected discounts come as something of a surprise, especially with Amazon Prime Day looming just a couple of months away.

If you’re hesitant to invest in its pricier counterpart, the Fire 7 tablet presents itself as a commendable alternative.

Here’s an overview of the Amazon Fire tablet deals on offer:

  • Fire 7 tablet, £42.99 (was £64.99) – buy here
  • Fire HD 8 tablet, £64.99 (was £99.99) – buy here
  • Fire HD 8 Plus tablet, £74.99 (was £119.99) – buy here
  • Fire HD 8 Kids Pro tablet, £94.99 (was £149.99) – buy here
  • Fire HD 10 tablet, £117.99 (was £149.99) – buy here
  • Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablet, £154.99 (was £199.99) – buy here
  • Fire Max 11 tablet, £164.99 (was £249.99) – buy here

The 7-inch Fire tablet is by far the cheapest on offer, but as you’ll see, lacks the HD screens of the rest of the lineup.

While it may not be the best fit for streaming lovers, many reviewers choose the Fire 7 as a step up from older Kindles, and as a cheaper alternative to the current 6-inch Kindle (£84.99).

I’ve also taken the liberty of comparing both the Amazon Fire tablet and Kindle, so you can figure out which will serve your needs best.

Granted, the Fire 7 lacks a high-definition screen, but unlike the Kindle, you at least have the option to browse the web, stream videos, or listen to music.

It comes with 16GB or 32GB storage variants and can expand storage up to 1TB with a microSD card, ensuring ample space for your digital content.

One of the standout features of the Fire 7 tablet is its impressive battery life, providing up to 10 hours of usage on a single charge.

Under the hood, the Fire 7 tablet boasts enhanced performance, thanks to its 30% faster quad-core processor and doubled RAM compared to its predecessor.

It boasts a respectable 4.5 star rating, with Amazon shoppers commending it on all fronts, including battery life, ease of use, and value.

One shopper dubbed it “compact and lightweight”, adding, “Fits in the hand for easy reading especially when reading on a crowded train. Small enough fit in a workbag with everything that is needed for the day.”

Another wrote, “We use our Fire tablets primarily for reading Kindle books, and browsing internet, buying our Kindle books etc., but OS seems faster and not as clunky as our previous Fire.”

The same shopper continued, “Easy to navigate set up and tweaks. Good screen resolution. Much longer battery life. For the price I can’t fault it.”
