What are the Space Marine 2 missions? Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 might not have the longest campaign ever, but its missions are a blast whether you’re playing by yourself or with two friendly supersoldiers by your side. Plus, there’s also the great Operations co-op mode, which although it features its own missions, ties directly into the main campaign.
Warhammer 40: Space Marine 2 is a remarkably jam-packed co-op game, from an action-packed story reminiscent of the best FPS game campaigns of yesteryear, to a co-op mode and even a dedicated PvP mode, much to the delight of Space Marine 1 veterans. So, here’s everything that’s on offer in the PvE modes.
All Space Marine 2 campaign missions
The Space Marine 2 missions in the campaign mode are:
- Skyfire
- Severance
- Machinus Divinitus
- Servant of the Machine
- Void Song
- Dawn’s Descent
While six campaign missions doesn’t sound like a lot, the Space Marine 2 length is actually pretty sizeable. Each individual mission is surprisingly lengthy, especially the final chapter, Dawn’s Descent, which feels like multiple levels strung together into a single mission. Plus, there’s also a prologue to explain protagonist Titus’ newfound position as a Primaris Space Marine.
The campaign takes place across three major planets – Kadaku, Avarax, and Demerium – as Tyranid and Choas forces of the Thousand Sons assault these key locations in the empire.
Skip the section below to find the available co-op mission if you’re cautious of spoilers for the main campaign:
Skyfire
Following a heavy assault from Tyranids, the Imperial withdrawal of assets and personnel from Kadaku is at risk. The anti-air defences helping to repel the assault are under heavy pressure from Tyranid forces. It’s your job to push the Tyranids back and ensure the defences hold until the withdrawal is complete.
Severance
Archmagos Nozick requires an evacuation from Kadaku after the Tyranid siege, though he won’t leave without the data from his facility. Naturally, you’re sent in to retrieve the data and evacuate the facility before it’s overrun with Tyranids.
Machinus Divinitus
After uncovering Project Aurora, Titus needs to track down Morias Leuze, who has gone missing. So, you head to a Tyranid-occupied facility on Avarax to find out where Leuze is hiding.
Servant of the Machine
Morias Leuze is holed up in the Temple of Thassan, which – you guessed it – is under siege from Tyranid forces. You need to fight your way through the temple to extract the Magos.
Void Song
The Adeptus Mechanicus is insistent on using Aurora despite the dangers, so Titus and his fellow Ultramarines must fight through Tyranid and Chaos forces to transmit a warning back to Marneus Calgar, the Chapter Master.
Dawn’s Descent
The final mission, Dawn’s Descent, is a massive undertaking which sees Titus infiltrating an overrun Adeptus Mechanicus facility to prevent Project Aurora’s activation by Choas forces.
All Space Marine 2 co-op missions
These are all the Space Marine 2 missions available in the Operations co-op mode:
- Inferno
- Decapitation
- Vox Liberatis
- Reliquary
- Fall of Atreus
- Ballistic Engine
These Operations missions, although part of a separate co-op mode, are directly tied into the main story of the game. These co-op missions focus on a separate group of Space Marines completing objectives that are often complimentary to Titus’ own fight. For example, Inferno sees the squad planning the distraction for Titus in the Severance campaign mission. So, while you can play all of the co-op missions before you unlock them naturally through the main story, you will have a few things spoiled for you if you do so.
Operations has four difficulty levels for you to progress through, with larger swarms, tougher enemies, and more scarce resources as you move up the tiers. However, in return, you will earn greater XP and higher quality Armory Data, so it’s worth the challenge once you reach the recommended class level:
- Minimal (level 1)
- Average (level 5)
- Substantial (level 10)
- Ruthless (level 15)
That covers all of the Space Marine 2 missions that you can play through during the cinematic campaign and co-op Operations mode right now. If you’ve been keeping up with the Space Marine 2 roadmap, then you’ll know that more missions and other content are coming to the multiplayer game in the future too.
