Travis Scott was arrested and booked by cops for causing a drunken disturbance on a Miami yacht on Thursday, but this was not the American rapper’s first brush with the law.
The Sicko Mode rapper, 33, who has two young children, Stormi and Aire, with Kylie Jenner – was arrested by police at the Miami Beach Marina at 1:17 am yesterday.
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was involved in ‘a disturbance on a yacht’ which involved people ‘fighting’, according to police.
Cops interrogated him about whether he’d been drinking. Scott replied: ‘It’s Miami’.
He also responded to the night’s chaos with a series of light-hearted tweets to calm fan fears about his upcoming tour, and an edited version of his bleary-eyed mugshot snapped in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Scott appeared to respond to his brush with the law on social media with a tweet simply reading ‘lol’ at 8.45am Thursday
Scott wrote ‘lol’ on X and shared his booking photo complete with photoshopped shades and earphones via Instagram stories.
His bond was set at $500 for trespassing and $150 for disorderly intoxication.
Over the years, Scott has had a few run-ins with the law.
Astroworld
Scott was at the forefront of the 2021 ‘Astroworld’ disaster, where 10 people lost their lives and hundreds more were injured while attending the rapper’s music festival at NRG Park in Houston, Texas in a deadly crush.
On November 5, 2021, hundreds of people were filmed stampeding through a VIP entrance at the Live Nation-organized event, sparking fears of overcrowding and poor crowd control.
Travis Scott was filmed continuing to perform after eight people were crushed to death – including two victims aged just 14 and 16 – with one witness saying it was a ‘floor of bodies’.
Videos circulating on Twitter showed the crowd chanting ‘stop the show, stop the show!’
While the concert was declared a mass casualty event at 9.38pm, the concert continued until 10:15pm, for which Scott – who was headlining and promoting the festival – was heavily criticised.
The rapper, alongside the festival’s organisers Live Nation and ScoreMore faced numerous civil lawsuits accusing them of negligence and wrongful death.
However in June last year, a Houston grand jury decided Scott would not face criminal charges for his role in the deadly crowd surge.
In November last year, two years after the stampede, Scott broke his silence on Astroworld in an interview with GQ, and said he was ‘overly devastated’ by the tragedy, adding that he thought about the disaster ‘all the time’.
Scott said: ‘Making music, you think about things that go on in life and things that happen in your life, and you dial in on things. That moment for families, for the city, you know, it was devastating. And when it came to making, like even finishing the album…I got back into it probably like, I don’t know, months and months and months after.
‘And the idea of just even getting back into music, working on music and just even getting into that, was therapeutic of being able to channel some of the energy into production and sounds and finishing it.

‘I mean I was just overly devastated, you know. Yeah… Yeah, I always think about it. Those fans were like my family. You know, I love my fans to the utmost.
Last month, Scott and Live Nation settled nine wrongful death lawsuits.
Other Incidents At Performances
Scott had also previously been arrested and charged for reckless conduct after inciting fans at Lollapalooza to ignore security and climb over barricades and onto stage in 2015.
He would later plead guilty to reckless conduct and receive one year supervised release.
That same year, at the OpenAir Festival in Switzerland, he encouraged fans to attack a man who took his shoe while he was crowd surfing, by stopping the concert and telling the crowd repeatedly to ‘f**k him up’ while also spitting on him.
In 2017, the rapper was arrested for similar behaviour to his Lollapalooza incident two years prior after a performance in Northwest Arkansas.
Later that year, a fan sued Scott and the organisers of a concert at Terminal 5 in Manhattan after falling from a balcony and becoming paralysed, blaming the fall on a crowd surge.
In 2019, three people were trampled and injured as fans rushed to enter the compound at Astroworld.
Cannes Brawl
Last month, Scott and Tyga – who are both ex boyfriends of Kylie Jenner – and their entourages were reportedly involved in an early morning brawl in Cannes, France.
The fight reportedly began after Scott and Tyga’s good friend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards began taking swings at each other at Richie Akiva’s ‘The After,’ an annual party he throws during the iconic French film festival that was held at the Domaine La Dilecta estate.
Sources said the hostilities began after Travis and Tyga were both behind the DJ booth.
After Akiva introduced Tyga and Edward, he also reportedly shouted out Travis, which seems to have rubbed the Sicko Mode rapper the wrong way.
Travis is said to have taken the microphone from Akiva, prompting Edwards, who was chumming up with Tyga earlier in the evening, to say something to him.
A source told Page Six that Edwards told Scott to ‘Let him show love.’
The rapper than reportedly began approaching Tyga’s security and shouting threats and insults.
‘Y’all [N-word] wanna die?’ he shouted, according to Page Six.
‘Travis was the aggressor,’ a source alleged. ‘He and his team were being neurotic, erratic and crazy. He was there looking for a fight with anyone to be honest.’
He was seen leaving the stage in a huff, only to allegedly return with Southside by his side.
TMZ’s sources say Southside and Edwards began shoving each other, before Edwards landed multiple punches.
Scott and Southside reportedly rushed to their cars to leave after the fight was broken up, though the party continued until around 9 a.m
Nebula Assault Allegations
In March last year, Scott was performing at Nebula nightclub in New York when cops were called to the scene amid reports that the rapper had attacked a sound engineer.
While Scott insisted that the nightclub punch-up was all a misunderstanding after a ‘great show’ witnesses filmed Scott snapping at a technician, identified only as Mark, after he reportedly asked Scott to lower the music as it was too loud for the venue’s size.
The musician reportedly responded by giving Mark the middle finger and punching him in the head, resulting in the engineer needing medical attention.
He was seen yelling ‘back the f*** up!’ in footage obtained by TMZ.
Once he realized he was being filmed, he also slapped the phone out of a fan’s hand.
The New York Police Department issued a warrant for the singer’s arrest, but the matter was resolved with a settlement reached and the NYPD not pressing any charges.
