Liverpool supporters are counting down the days until the Premier League returns.
Although some members of the first-team squad are currently in action, both at Euro 2024 and Copa America, most fans are itching for the “real” football to be back.
Arne Slot will likely be sharing this emotion as he prepares to take charge of his first match in charge of the club, which will occur later this month during the Reds’ pre-season tour of USA.
As the wait goes on for Liverpool to play, the majority of talking points relate to the ongoing summer tournaments that are nearing an end.

Alexander-Arnold video
Trent Alexander-Arnold was the hero for England during the Three Lions’ penalty shootout win over Switzerland on Saturday evening.
The Liverpool right-back, subbed on late on during extra-time, scored the decisive spot-kick to book a place in the final four for Gareth Southgate’s side.
Shortly after celebrating his match-winning moment with his team-mates, Alexander-Arnold was filmed in conversation with his family.
A number of supporters have watched the clip and believe the Reds’ vice-captain can he heard saying ‘He didn’t want to take one’, presumably in reference to a member of the England squad not wishing to take a penalty kick.
Sneijder makes bold United prediction
Former Inter Milan and Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder has backed Manchester United to win the Premier League title before Liverpool.
United finished 22 points behind Liverpool last campaign, extending their top-flight title drought to 11 years in the process, and ended with a goal difference of -1.
The Red Devils have been lagging behind Liverpool for the last decade and are yet to experience a revival under Erik ten Hag, though Sneijder believes Ten Hag is more likely to deliver Premier League glory than his Dutch counterpart, Arne Slot.
Asked who will come out on top first out of Liverpool and United, Sneijder told talkSPORT: “Manchester United. Because they have time to build something, the coach will stay and they are confident enough in the coach to build on something. So I believe they will be stronger this season than last season.”
