Alex Jones was forced to miss The One Show on Tuesday evening after her son Kit was rushed to hospital.
The TV presenter, 47, sparked concern among her fans after revealing her five-year-old had been taken to hospital and did not give any further details of his condition.
Alex took to Instagram and shared a photo of her son in a hospital bed with his face hidden while he was being cared for a nurse.
Alongside it, she wrote: ‘Never gets any easier but made so much better thanks to the amazingly kind and gentle staff.’
The star never disclosed what her son needed medical attention for but did confirm with fans later that he was alright.
Sharing a photo of herself, she wrote: ‘Such a relief that it’s done! Needless to say, I won’t be on @bbctheoneshow later but @laurenlaverne and @gabbylogan will look after you x.’

Alex was replaced on Tuesday’s episode of The One Show by Gabby Logan who co-hosted with Lauren Laverne.
The TV presenter is mother to Kit and older son Teddy who was born in 2017 and a daughter born in 2021 with her husband Charlie Thomson.
Late last year, Alex took a brief absence from The One Show to move house.
The broadcaster revealed she has re-located out of London after living in the same house for 11 years.
After her initial announcement in July, Alex shared that her and Charlie had decided they wanted a different environment for their children to grow up in.
Keeping her fans up to date on her move, she admitted in an Instagram video in July that it was an ’emotional’ time for her as she prepared to leave her former home.
This was emotional. After 11 years, we are MOVING HOUSE. Would love any packing tips you have??,’ she captioned the clip, seeking her fans’ advice.
Speaking the camera, she shared: ‘So here’s a bit of news: we’re moving home! Aggggh! I’m finding it a little bit emotional.’

The presenter then showed off countless piles of boxes and went through sentimental bits such as a baby book and a children’s memory box.
Taking a trip down the memory lane she grabbed another huge box and said: ‘This one is a mammoth. It’s a children’s art work. And there’s tons of it.
Alex then displayed items she was giving away including a fluffy beanie and then brought out a party box.
As the presenter took over the gruelling packing task – she admitted candidly: ‘I don’t know myself. For the first time in my life I don’t know where my things are.’
And as part of the upheaval Alex took a break from her presenting duties on The One Show which she has appeared on since 2010.

The presenter has revealed that doesn’t plan on leaving The One Show anytime soon and described the job as ‘security’ for her family
She was briefly replaced by Vernon Kay, 50, who took up the reins of the famous green sofa alongside Lauren Laverne, 46, in a previously unannounced switch-up.
But Alex reassured fans that she has no intention of going anywhere in the long term.
Following her co-hosts Jermaine Jenas’ sacking, Alex explained that ‘longevity is key’ as she addressed her future shortly before the ex-footballer, 41, was dismissed from his presenting duties following complaints about alleged ‘inappropriate behaviour’.
Alex told Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast: ‘I can’t believe I’m still here. I just go in, do the job and hope no one notices I’m still there. I just love it.
‘People ask a lot: ‘What do you want to do next? Don’t you want to do a big entertainment show?’ I’m like: ‘What do you mean?’ I’m really happy.’
She went on to admit she has no plans to leave for any entertainment projects and is happy hosting The One Show as it ‘provide security for her children’.
She continued: ‘All new projects are exciting and a new challenge but actually it would be really amiss of anybody to overlook the bread and butter.
‘All the extra bits are really fun and exciting but actually for me longevity is key. I want to be there. Being the main breadwinner, I want to be able to provide security for the children.’
