Following recent changes in the company, with José Díaz-Caneja taking on the role of CEO of the Infrastructure area and Manuel Manjón Vilda as the new leader of the Water Division, ACCIONA yesterday announced a new appointment to its management team.
Alejandro Jiménez Benítez takes over as head of Business Development and Strategy in the Infrastructure Division. A civil engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and holder of an MBA from IESE, Jiménez joined ACCIONA in 2002. Since then, he has held various positions in the Water and Service businesses, focusing on business development and strategy. Until now, he was Director of Business Development, Strategy and Sustainability in Water, a role he will combine with his new responsibilities.
At iAgua we have had the opportunity to get to know the perspective of Alejandro Jiménez on several occasions, highlighting his strategic focus on business development in the water sector. In a key interview published in iAgua Magazine 32 at the end of 2020, Jiménez gave a detailed insight into ACCIONA’s growth and strategy. He highlighted the company’s significant international expansion, especially in the Middle East, and its ability to adapt to the challenges of the global market. He also emphasized ACCIONA’s strength in offering comprehensive services in the water sector, ranging from desalination projects to sustainable infrastructure management.
