Discount supermarket chain Aldi is recruiting staff for a new Cheshire store set to open later this year. The retailer has 16 roles up for grabs at its impending Viking Way store in Congleton.
The vacant positions include store assistants, apprentices, cleaners and caretakers and range from 10 to 30 hours a week. Successful applicants will be trained at nearby stores in West Heath and Holmes Chapel.
From June 1, starting pay for Aldi store assistants will be £12.40 per hour. The new store – along with a Starbucks drive-thru – was given the go-ahead by Cheshire East’s strategic planning board in September last year.
Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi, said: “We are really excited about creating even more jobs in Congleton. Aldi’s increased popularity and customer demand for quality products allows us to keep growing and create more employment opportunities across the region.
“Working at Aldi means more than just having a job – we really care about our colleagues, both personally and professionally. On top of our competitive pay and benefits package, Aldi continues to offer a great working environment and real opportunities to progress within the business.”
