Many individuals take on additional jobs to afford little luxuries but those who don’t may believe it’s too much effort.
However, one man demonstrated that earning extra cash doesn’t have to be difficult. He visited Aldi, made some smart choices, and earned a significant amount of money.
User @aftermarketarbitrage explained on TikTok how he manages to make over £700 in an hour “from Aldi”, without being an employee there. He said he “knew” he could “make a killing” on label makers that were special buys at the supermarket.
“They cost £15 each, and on Amazon, they sell for… well, I’m gonna tell you at the end,” he revealed.
He confessed he “absolutely rammed the basket full of them”, purchasing 24 units. He then visited another store and managed to secure more label makers.
The man bought “another 28 units”, joking that “the look on people’s faces” was confused when they saw what he was buying.
He mentioned he could’ve visited more stores, but decided to go home and start making a profit. He boxed and labelled them up “ready to be picked up by UPS in the morning”.
On Amazon, the label maker sells for £37, which means there’s a £16 profit per unit. “And that figure is after Amazon fees”, he added.
“I got 52 in total which is £859 profit,” he boasted, but he had to pay £4 for Amazon FBA shipping – which in the grand scheme of things isn’t bad at all. He made £855 profit “for 70 minutes work”.
However, some were sceptical of his methods. One individual commented: “It’s only profit when it’s in the bank and you’re spending it. Otherwise it’s called ‘stock’ and if Aldi are selling them your 60 units will take a while to sell.”
He retorted that all the units had “already sold”. Another queried about the selling duration, to which he replied “around 4-5 days”.
A TikToker expressed doubt, stating: “If I was doing this and smashing the profit I’d be keeping it quiet not advertising it on social media.”
