See Taylor Swift’s Harris endorsement, Trump’s response after debate
Taylor Swift took to Instagram to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. Former President Donald Trump responded in the spin room.
Now they’ve got bad blood.
President Donald Trump bashed Taylor Swift after the pop superstar backed Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris.
During a phone interview on Fox News on Wednesday morning, Trump said he is not a fan of the “Tortured Poets Department” singer. Instead, he said he was a bigger fan of Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth,” Trump said. “She’s a big Trump fan. I was not a Taylor Swift fan.”
Brittany Mahomes recently liked a post by Trump on Instagram where he shared the GOP platform – before unliking it after she received backlash for the action. However, she seemingly doubled down on her opinion and criticized the haters. She also liked several comments that were pro-Trump on her Instagram.
Swift, who is currently dating Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Mahomes are friendly and have been spotted hanging out over the weekend.
Swift threw her coveted endorsement behind Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, moments after the debate finished on Tuesday evening.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
In 2020, Swift backed the Democratic ticket of Biden and Harris.
Trump said he believes Swift’s endorsement of Harris will hurt her sales. Swift broke records with the highest-grossing tour during her worldwide “Era Tour.”
“She’s a very liberal person,” Trump said of Swift. “She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it … in the marketplace.”
Trump praised Mahomes for her support of his campaign.
“I think Brittany’s great,” Trump said. “She’s a big MAGA fan. That’s the one I like, much better than Taylor Swift… And I think — I think she’s terrific. Not Taylor Swift,” Trump said.
