Adele doubled down on her plans for a hiatus from music and claimed her break will last ‘an incredibly long time’ – amid her engagement to Rich Paul.
The 36-year-old songstress made the announcement onstage Saturday during the final night of her 10-show engagement in Munich, Germany.
After her performances in Europe, she will resume her Las Vegas residency for one more run of concerts from October 25 to November 23.
She previously stated in July that she had ‘no plans’ to make new music once her Las Vegas residency draws to a close after two years.
Now she has divulged further details about her planned departure from the music industry, in a speech a fan has posted to TikTok.

She informed the crowd that ‘I’ve got 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart.’
Ahead of her Munich performances, she made the bombshell announcement that she does not ‘have any plans for new music at all,’ during a ZDF interview in July.
‘I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things. Just for a little while,’ she explained to the German public service broadcaster.
Adele sent her fanbase into a frenzy when she finally confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul during an early show of the Munich residency.
The singer told fans she was ‘getting married’ and flashed her diamond ring while addressing the audience at the purpose-built, 80,000-seat outdoor arena.
Adele and the Klutch Sports Group founder, 42, who have been dating since 2021, secretly got engaged last month after he proposed in her hometown, Tottenham in North London.
Reading out a sign in the audience which read ‘will you marry me?,’ Adele responded: ‘I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married!’
She performed the first of her ten dates in Munich last weekend as an incredible 75,000 fans attended in the purpose built stadium for the star.

The weekend before the announcement, Adele cryptically hinted at her reported engagement to fiancé Rich as she kicked off her long-awaited residency in Munich.
The Hello songstress made a comment about her ‘personal life’ as she told the crowd: ‘What’s going on in my personal life? Nothing because I’ve been getting ready for this.’
Despite months of rumors Adele and Rich were already married, it was claimed that the couple have in fact just got engaged.
Reports emerged that basketball agent Rich quietly popped the question during a trip to Tottenham, London, The Sun claims.
The location was said to be no coincidence, with Rich wanting to make his love known in Adele’s hometown, amid claims she is preparing to move back to the UK.
The couple were previously rumored to have tied the knot last year and reportedly confirmed the union at her best friend Alan Carr‘s comedy show in Los Angeles, with two audience members confirming the news to Deuxmoi.
An onlooker explained: ‘I was at Alan Carr’s comedy show in LA tonight and Adele was in the audience. Alan asked the crowd if anyone got married recently and Adele shouted ‘I did’.’
Another audience member added of the ‘small and intimate show: ‘When he asked if anyone got married recently she yelled ‘I did’. Super cute all around and was super sweet but dipped right before it ended.’

They added: ‘Adele was sitting right behind me with a friend having the best time. Her security only came in to bring her snacks.
‘She didn’t care if people knew she was there. She was heckling him – they’re best friends.’
Rich was then asked by CBS host Gayle King about the rumours he and Adele have tied the knot.
The journalist asked whether she should refer to Adele as ‘Mrs. Paul’ the next time she speaks to her.
Richard played coy, saying: ‘You can say whatever you want,’ before adding he is not the ‘type of person to put [his] personal life. It’s not for the media.’
Adele called Rich her husband during her Las Vegas concert in September, sparking speculation that the two had tied the knot.
The couple first went public with their relationship in July 2021 when they were seated courtside together at an NBA game.
The Grammy winner has been wearing a pear-shaped diamond ring on her left ring finger for about a year.
In the past when asked about it, she commented that it wasn’t an engagement ring, she simply likes high end jewellery.
Adele was previously married to entrepreneur Simon Konecki from 2018 to 2021. The pair share an 11 year old son, Angelo.
During her show on Friday, which was hit by some stumbling blocks after severe weather warnings were issued, the superstar was forced to pause the show due to a fashion faux pas that she desperately needed to sort while still on stage.
The singer wowed in a midnight blue floor length dress as she belted out her hits to the delight of adoring fans.
The printed dress featured a huge train that billowed out to the side and across the floor and had been soaking up the water from the torrential rain during her performance, which caused Adele to momentarily stop the concert.
Addressing the crowd she said: ‘Sadly I have to take this gorgeous train off because it is wet and heavy’ before calling over to her backing singers ‘Girls can you help me?’
Making sure she continued to entertain the crowd she said: ‘At least it’s not thundering and lightening. Jesus!
‘I got a weather update and it said it wasn’t gonna be raining in time for the show, so I thought: “Let me wear this dress with this enormous train on it” like a right f***y. I was underneath the stage back there.’

As her backing singers got to work pulling the train away from the dress, Adele added: ‘I can hear you all by the way. You lot in the corner over here on this side, you’re a real vibe but then you had me shook cos one of you was like “We can see you under there” and I’m standing in my underwear!
‘Anyway I’m gonna go into another song for you, this dress is quite complicated.’
As her singers walked off to the side of the stage carrying the garment, Adele shouted after them: ‘Thanks girls – look at it dripping!’
Elsewhere during the show, the singer performed her hit Chasing Pavements for the first time in seven years.
The star released the single as part of her debut studio album, 19 in 2008.
