Activision has officially confirmed that Black Ops 6 is this year’s Call of Duty game.
Having launched a teaser site for the game earlier this week, Activision has stepped up its marketing campaign with adverts in Thursday’s edition of USA Today, which can be seen above and below.
They include the logo for the game and its official title, Call of Duty Black Ops 6, plus links to the teaser website, TheTruthLies.com.
As previously reported, the website includes a video seemingly referencing the last Black Ops game, 2020’s Cold War, which included multiple endings in which the player could choose to tell the truth or lie about the location of antagonist Perseus.
The same image of a vandalised Mount Rushmore that is advertised in USA Today also appears in the video.
The logo seemingly confirms that this year’s title will be stylised as Black Ops 6 rather than Black Ops VI. Prior to Black Ops Cold War, all titles in the series used Roman numerals in their logos.
The Xbox Games Showcase – the first to include games across Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios – will be livestreamed on June 9.
It will be followed by a mystery product showcase, where it’s expected that this year’s Call of Duty game will be fully unveiled.
Before then, evidence uncovered by dataminers has suggested the game could be revealed this month through an in-game event in Call of Duty Warzone.
It was recently claimed that this year’s Call of Duty title will be included in Game Pass at release.
