ABBA’s legend Björn Ulvaeus tied the knot for the third time and former The Great British Bake Off star Sandi Toksvig officiated. Big news as the 79 year old Swedish hitmaker said ‘I do’ to 51 year old Danish sweetheart Christina Sas in a gorgeous ceremony held in Copenhagen this Saturday. It’s been a love story brewing since their meeting in Nurnberg, all thanks to ABBA’s farewell album ‘Voyage’.
Björn excitedly shared wedding news online with friends, fans, and followers with a series of snaps. “Today on the 21st of September 2024, Bjorn Ulvaeus married Christina Sas from Herning, Denmark,” hd said. “They met in Nurnberg in 2021 in connection with the release of ABBA’s last album Voyage and started dating in the spring of 2022. The wedding took place in Copenhagen in the presence of close friends and family.”
He also referenced the star-studded performances enhancing their special day and said: “Sandi Toksvig, Anne Linnet and Kaya Bruel generously performed and made the evening extra special,” reports the Mirror.

Decked out in clergy robes, Sandi, age 66, wasn’t just there for show; her friendship with Bjorn began when they collaborated on Mamma Mia: The Party! back in 2018.
Plus, the public got a peek at Björn and Christina as an item this past June when he brought her along to an event saying, “We have dated for a while and I felt like I wanted to take her to this event. So this is the first time we go out together.”
Their romance bloomed behind the scenes, as Christina was a part of Universal in Germany the very label that launched ABBA’s 2021 album Voyage.
The ABBA legend Björn Ulvaeus, 77, opened up about his personal life, sharing that his marriage with Lena Kallersjo, 75, had reached its final note. The couple, parents to Emma, 42, and Anna, 38, shared a touching joint statement in February 2022: “After many wonderful and eventful years, we have decided to go our separate ways. We remain close friends and will continue to celebrate our grandchildren’s birthdays and other family holidays together.”
They gracefully agreed to divide their £100million fortune down the middle.
Before Lena, Björn’s heart once belonged to fellow ABBA star Agnetha Faltskog. They were husband and wife from 1971 until their split in 1979, sharing children Linda, 51, and Peter, 46. In 2020, he shocked fans with his frank bedroom confession in an interview, cheekily remarking: “I’m 75, and I can’t manage more than four times a week.”
