Internet sleuths have time and again spoken about finding bigfoot sightings and “holes to the centre of the Earth” through the web mapping platform.
In a new discovery, someone has now come up with an image of a weird structure on the icy slopes of Antarctica that is claimed to be a purported secret giant door.
Google’s satellites had captured the mysterious anomaly, and its image was uploaded this year as users started giving personal theories regarding its true nature.
Here’s how Redditors reacted to the anomaly
Some of the users stated that the structure is near a 67-year-old Japan-run research base called Showa Station and hence the “door” should be the entrance to a “secret Japanese bunker”.
Meanwhile, others said that it was “Bigfoot’s vacation home” (him again) or a “blown-off Boeing door”.

Some commentators said that it could be the entrance to a seed vault or underground bunker, which was like the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway that contained millions of seeds as an “insurance policy for the world’s food supply”.
However, many Redditors said that it was not some door but only an ice formation and its shadow. Some even said that by zooming on Google Maps, “you’ll see the entire area littered with [similar] structures”.
