A van bearing the logo of a film support company linked to actor James Nesbitt has been used to deliver material to a controversial loyalist bonfire in south Belfast.

The van, which carried ‘G&H Film and Television Services Ltd’ branding, was filmed and pictured dumping pallets at the site in the Sandy Row district of south Belfast on Saturday.

Footage obtained by the Irish News shows pallets being thrown from the large van just yards from the Holiday Inn.

A large number of pallets have been gathered at the bonfire site ahead of annual Eleventh Night celebrations later this month.

A native of Coleraine, in Co Derry, Mr Nesbitt is listed as one of two active directors at G&H, which provides services for the film and television industry and has an address in London.

The Sandy Row bonfire site has been at the centre of controversy in the past.

In 2002 damage was caused to a nearby apartment block by huge flames rising from the Eleventh Night pyre.

The damage included three cracked window panes as flames licked the nearby building.

In 2017 the blazing pyre toppled towards nearby apartments resulting in windows being cracked and shattered from the heat.

Residents later told how the burning tower fell towards their building as they looked on.

G&H Film and Television Services Ltd was contacted.
