Moria Barton is left furious in next week’s Emmerdale as Samson Dingle drops a bombshell.
The Dingle family has imploded in recent weeks after Matty Barton was imprisoned after he stabbed Samson. The incident unfolded after Josh and Matty grew increasingly hostile, until Josh threatened him to give up the money in the till.
The stand-off escalated and Josh shoved Samson into Matty, causing him to be stabbed by the knife that Matty was holding. Samson then lied to his family and the police and said Matty stabbed him, leading to high tensions between Samson’s dad Sam Dingle and his brother Cain Dingle, who is step-dad to Matty.
While Moira and husband Cain have taken Matty’s side, Sam and his wife Lydia Dingle are standing by Samson, believing he is telling the truth about the stabbing.
However, next week Samson announces he is leaving the village while Matty lappears to be in grave danger.
On Monday (July 8), Moira is seething to hear Josh and Samson’s intention to leave for their European trip sooner than before, vowing to stop them.
Moira bursts into the Dingles and throws around accusations about Samson leaving early at Sam who wastes no time in jumping to his son’s defence and proclaiming his innocence.
Sam is soon convinced to let Samson leave as he promises to be back before the trial, but Moira is on a mission to stop him going.
Meanwhile, Matty is in brighter spirits after discoverng that his cell mate Les has accepted him as a trans man and is excited to tell Amy when she visits him.
Matty also has hope of being released after he gets a new soliticor leaving Amy glad to see Matty being more positive.
But when their visit comes to an end, she watches Matty go and she’s approached by Robbo, who she mistakes for Les.
Unfortunately Robbo’s sympathetic front gets the truth about Matty from Amy, who is oblivious to the danger she has now put her husband in.
When Matty returns to his cramped cell and Les leaves to see his solicitor, Robbo arrives sparking fear into Matty when he realises the thug has spoken to his wife.
But back in his prison cell, Matty is trappedand terrified when Robbo reveals he’s learnt the truth and the menacing transphobe closes in on him. Meanwhile, upbeat Amy arrives home to tell them about Matty’s positive attitude.
Later in the week, things get worse for Matty whilst Amy and Moira wonder why they’ve not heard from him.
After witnessing Josh threatening Samson and putting pressure on him to continue lying to the police, Lydia suspects Samson is hiding something.
But after meeting with Moira, will Lydia agree to help her and betray Samson?
