Slow traffic in Jesmond, Newcastle

There is slow traffic in Newcastle on the A1058 Jesmond Road inbound before A167(M).

Queues on the Felling Bypass

There are the usual queues on the A184 Felling Bypass Westbound in Gateshead around A185 / B1426 Shields Road (Heworth traffic lights).

Queueing traffic in Newcastle

There is also queueing traffic in Newcastle on the A69 Eastbound from A6085 Ponteland Road (Throckley Turn Off) to A1 Western Bypass (Denton Burn roundabout).

There is queueing traffic on the A19 Southbound at the Tyne Tunnel.

Travel time is five minutes.

Slow traffic in Durham

There is slow traffic on A167 Newcastle Road Southbound around A690 Neville’s Cross Bank.

Travel time is ten minutes.

Queueing traffic at Moor Farm roundabout

There is queueing traffic on the A19 at A189 / A1171 / B1505 (Moor Farm roundabout).

Travel time is five minutes.

The lane which was closed at Testo’s roundabout, following a collision, has now been reopened.

The road is now clear.

Slow traffic on the A1

There is slow traffic on A1 Western Bypass Northbound around A167 Angel Of The North coming from Chester-le-Street. Travel time is ten minutes.

Queueing traffic at the Tyne Tunnel

There is queueing traffic on A19 Northbound at the Tyne Tunnel in Jarrow, South Tyneside.

Travel time is ten minutes.

There is also queueing traffic on the A19 Southbound at the Tyne Tunnel in Howdon, North Tyneside.

Travel time is five minutes.

Slow traffic at the Tyne Bridge

There is currenrly slow traffic on A167 in both directions at the Tyne Bridge.

This AA map shows Testo’s roundabout near Boldon Colliery – the location of the collision.

The red and dark red line indicates slow and extremely slow traffic.

Reported two vehicle collision

North East Live Traffic has shared video footage of Testo’s roundabout (A184 /A19) on X.

They have reported that lane three remains closed on the western side of the roundabout due to an earlier two vehicle collision.

There appears to be an ambulance at the scene.

There is one lane closed on the A184 Newcastle Road at A19 (Testo’s roundabout).

This is due to a collision on the roundabout.

There is currently heavy traffic in the area.

Slow traffic at the Tyne Tunnel

There is the usual slow traffic on A19 Northbound at the Tyne Tunnel in Jarrow, South Tyneside.

Travel time is ten minutes.

A1 has now re-opened

The A1 Western Bypass Southbound was closed due to overrrunning roadworks.

It has now re-opened and traffic has returned to normal.

This AA map shows the area of the A1 impacted by the roadworks.

It has affected traffic on the southbound carriageway near the Metrocentre in Gateshead.

The dark red line indicates extremely slow traffic.

National Highways North-East say a diversion is in place and the roadworks are expecte4d to be ongoing until around 7am.

A1 closed due to overrunning roadworks

The A1 Western Bypass Southbound is currently closed due to overrunning roadworks from J69 A692 Lobley Hill Road (Dunston Interchange) to J66 A167 Durham Road (Bowes Incline / Angel Of The North).

The works were due to finish at 6am.

Haymarket Metro station exit only

Customers are currently unable to board Metro trains at Haymarket station as it is exit only.

They have been urged use Monument of Central Station to board trains in Newcastle city centre.

There are gaps in service on the green and yellow Metro lines this morning due to train availability.
