As Helldivers 2 approaches the six-month mark since its release, players have settled into using the meta weapons that give players the most chance at success. For the Terminids, many players choose to use the Incendiary Breaker Shotgun due to its fire rounds that can quickly drain the hell of any enemy that is encountered. But, not everyone sticks to the meta and players have offered up some great alternatives to use instead.
U/Yellatrob took to Reddit to discuss the current meta of Helldivers 2 and the viable alternative options, stating “Nothing against the Incendiary Breaker, it’s just there are usually plenty of flame sources brought down by other squad mates.” Instead, the player tends “to take the Punisher against bugs 80%” but also uses “the Adjudicator or Liberator Carbine against bugs, occasionally,” adding that “both are quite fun and effective.”
Another popular choice used by many players is the Blitzer, with u/saagri giving the reason that “it can’t run out of ammo and packs a decent punch vs the medium bugs like spewers.”
u/bigbagdude shared their loadout, consisting of the “Blitzer, Grenade Pistol, Stun Grenade, Spear, Autocannon Turret, Orbital Gatling, and Airstrike,” which u/McDonaldsSoap called “the Swiss army Helldiver.”
U/LoveTrousers also praised the Dominator as a great alternative, saying that it “is nice to headshot Bile/Nursing Spewers.”
U/Old_Gimbo and I share something in common in that we both like the new Pummeler SMG from the Polar Patriots Warbond, with the Reddit user saying that the “Pummeler is great against bugs, staggers Stalkers and Spewers, deals with hunters & warriors pretty quick while preventing hunters from pouncing, good size clip and full auto fire.”
When it comes to loadouts, it can be difficult to figure out what is the best option because everyone has a different play style. So sometimes it is great to look at what others are using as a guidelines, but ultimately it will all depend on what works for you.
