Chelsea and Enzo Maresca are finally seeming to move towards improving the playing squad at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2024/25 season. The Blues are in desperate need for further reinforcements to help build on last season’s sixth-placed finish.
Interest has been intensifying for targets and with pre-season getting closer, Chelsea will be hoping to kickstart their transfer business sooner rather than later.
A new striker and centre-back seem to be prioritised by the club hierarchy yet a move for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has gathered place in the last 24 hours. The Leicester City star has been tipped to leave the club due to the Foxes’ tight financial situation, but a sale isn’t expected to happen quickly due to their reluctance to let the midfielder leave for below their valuation.
Fresh Isak enquiry made
Chelsea have reportedly made a fresh enquiry for Alexander Isak, according to Chronicle Live. The report adds that the Blues have been in touch with Newcastle over the Sweden international.
Reports earlier in the week claimed that the both teams had held discussions over a possible transfer for Isak. While there is no suggestion that Newcastle would sell Isak, the recent bid is said to be deemed as the West Londoners testing United’s resolve.

Newcastle had opened preliminary talks on a new contract for the striker but sources have stood up the latest enquiry to Chronicle Live from Chelsea.
football.london says: “Chelsea are finally looking to kickstart their transfer business under Maresca. Isak would be the ideal striker profile for the Blues so it’s no surprise that they are attempting to test Newcastle’s resolve.
“However, they aren’t going to get their man with ease. Newcastle want to keep the striker but a move to Stamford Bridge is appealing. He will cost more than £100m so it’s down to the club hierarchy to decide whether they want to launch a blockbuster move.”
Broja swap proposal
Chelsea striker Armando Broja has been offered as part of the Blues’ hopes of signing Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. According to The Telegraph, the Albanian is one of the players being considered to be included in the deal.
David Datro Fofana and Cesare Casadei are also players who could leave the club. Fofana has interest from European clubs while Casadei spent the first half of last season at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester’s tight financial situation means they are desperate for money. However, it seems a player-plus-cash move is more probable if Dewsbury-Hall is to reunite with Maresca.
football.london says: “Broja’s career at Chelsea has been unfortunate for many reasons. Alongside the long-term injury he suffered in 2022, a consistent lack of a run in the team and new signings being preferred, he has struggled to establish himself.
“Dewsbury-Hall is obviously a player Maresca likes and has already worked wonders under him last season. However, a deal is going to be hard to strike with Leicester without the supply of a player in exchange.
“Broja may have fancied his chances of breaking into the Chelsea team. However, a move to Leicester could see him finally establish himself as a regular Premier League striker.”
