British Airways flight #BA2279 to Vancouver rejected take off.
A British Airways Boeing 777-200ER rejected take off on runway 26 at London Gatwick.
The aircraft (registration G-VIIT) rejected take off at high speed due to a technical issue. The brakes slammed on just as front wheels lifted.
The Boeing 777 was met by fire trucks at the end of the runway before it taxied to a remote area of the airport.
Firemen had to inspect the brakes before the pilots were allowed to move the aircraft.
The aircraft is 25 years old. It was delivered to British Airways in 1999.
