What is Amazon Prime Day and how can I take part?

Amazon Prime Day is Amazon’s flagship shopping event and their biggest sale of the year. It was initially started as a one-day celebration of Amazon’s 20th anniversary, but it has grown up of late and is now a huge two-day shopping event. It’s probably bigger than – or at least on par with – Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

This year, Amazon is delivering millions of deals across every product category from Amazon Prime Day beauty deals to home, fitness and tech/gadgets (hello new laptops and bluetooth smartwatches), for Amazon Prime members only. Yep, you have to have signed up for an Amazon Prime membership – or at least be on a free 30-day trial – to take part, but you’ll get access to things like lightning deals on Alexas, Audible, Kindles and other Amazon devices (like Ring doorbells), plus lots of non-Amazon branded items.
