Jessica Alba comeback slammed as Netflix Trigger Warning viewers switch off

Must read

Jessica Alba returned to a major acting role in Netflix’s newest action film Trigger Warning which was heavily hyped up – but it seems to have left some watchers severely let down.

The movie sees Alba play special forces commando Parker who is fresh from mourning the loss of her father and returning home to her small US town, but it’s not long before the first action scene takes place and kicks off the 106-minute movie.

Trigger Warning also stars Mark Webber and Anthony Michael Hall and sees Parker try to uncover the conspiracy surrounding her father’s death.

The film currently sits at the top of the movie charts due to its fresh release, however, feedback from viewers has labelled the film as “dreadful” and “unable to finish it”.

One disappointed viewer wrote on X: “I was truly shocked that Alba chose this movie as her comeback vehicle. Pathetic dialogue, poor acting, bad action scenes, boring pace…”

Another shared: “We literally couldn’t finish it because it was so awful. 45 minutes in we decided we would rather watch paint dry and switched to something else.”

“Watching Trigger Warning. Damn … it’s bad, so bad … I love female lead action movies, Jessica Alba is beautiful, but this is just cringe,” said another.

Someone else noted: “Jessica Alba’s amazing action chops were wasted in Trigger Warning. More of her please but in better movies.”

“Wow, Jessica Alba stars in the worse [sic] movie Lifetime forgot to make. Trigger Warning was dreadful,” a fifth penned. (sic)

The film rating website Rotten Tomatoes has only given the movie a measly 25 per cent rating from 24 critics, with the audience scoring the film just 16 per cent.

The Fantastic Four star recently shared a behind-the-scenes snap on her Instagram and was seen practising a stunt and posing with a knife inside a police car.

“A little bit of #BTS while filming…. Trigger Warning is almost here… @netflix and chill with me tomorrow!?” she captioned the post. (sic)

Alba was seen taking a break in her “blood”-stained trousers, displaying her realistic dirtied-up complexion and gashes, and posing with what appeared to be a weapon brandished over her shoulder.

The 43-year-old started her acting career with roles in TV shows such as Dark Angel and LA’s Finest, before transitioning to feature films.

Outside of acting, Alba is married to Cash Warren and share three children together; Honor Marie, 16, Haven Garner, 13, and Hayes, 7.
Despite the actress being active in Hollywood for over 20 years, she recently noted that she would rather her children stay behind the camera.

She told People: “The thing is, I think if you tell your kid anything, they’re going to do the opposite, right? If they do want to be a performer, then being able to be a producer and a writer, or a director.

“I think having that leadership role is really important to the art and be part of the art in a way where they feel like they can have more autonomy and there’s more dignity.”
