Time may be ticking for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to rejoin the Royal Family.
Harry and Meghan famously quit the royal family in 2020 and are no longer addressed as his or her royal highness (HRH). Harry also gave up his military titles.
The couple no longer has an official UK residence. In early 2023, they were asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage, a Grade-II listed property on the Windsor estate. And now the couple have been warned they “are running out of time” to rejoin the Royal fold.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have become “irrelevant” to the remaining members of the Royal family according to an expert.
Richard Eden also said that Meghan and Harry are “not wanted” by the royal family.
Talking on Palace Confidential the Daily Mail diary editor said “if Harry wants to come back at any stage, he needs to do it while his father is still King.” However, he feels if William is King the reception for Harry will be a very frosty one.
“I really think that when Prince Wlliam is King, I can’t see him letting Harry come back and have a role again. They are irrelevant now, they are just not wanted as part of the monarchy, maybe there could be some radical change but it’s hard to see.”
Harry and Meghan are also plummeting in popularity with the public.
A poll by YouGov released in April found that Meghan was the second most unpopular royal with only Andrew behind her.
Andrew was seen in a negative light by 86 percent of respondents compared with 64 percent for Meghan.
Harry did not fare much better with 61 percent saying they had a negative view of him.
In recent weeks, reports have suggested that Harry and Meghan could be considering a return to the UK, with Harry even said to be missing his old royal life.
