Londoners have put on their sequins and feathers this weekend as Taylor Swift, arrived in the Big Smoke for her Eras tour – but the aftermath of the concert has seen trains delayed and fans stuck on transport for hours
Taylor Swift fans are finding it hard to shake off the memories of the travel chaos they endured this weekend.
The American songstress brought her Eras tour to London this weekend as she continues to make her way around the UK. But what started out as a night of sequins and sparkle quickly turned pretty grim for those trying to make it home after the show.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ben Travis detailed the scenes he witnessed on the tube during the early hours of Sunday morning (June 23) on a packed and delayed tube. He wrote: “The bleakest of post-Taylor Swift scenes. Queued nearly two hours to get out, been trapped on a tube for 30 mins between Wembley and Finchley Road.

“Now someone has thrown up and everyone’s gipping [wretching]. Plus a daddy long legs has started flying around and people are screaming. Cursed.”
A picture taken on the Jubilee Line train showed people sitting on the floor as they impatiently waited for the vehicle to move. Ben went onto explain the train finally got moving in the end, noting “everyone cheered” when it did. And others were quick to comment on the ordeal they experienced.
One person wrote: “Always avoid Wembley Way, we walked straight to Park by going around past Tesco/McD’s.” Another wrote: “Please don’t let a puke chain commence.”
Meanwhile a third chimed in: “This is like a wild modern renaissance painting.”
One woman who tried to leave the venue told us the experience was “awful” after it took her hours to get home. The 27-year-old, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I think it took about an hour to queue up and get to Wembley Central, which is expected I guess, but still very, very long.
“We decided to go to the stop before Wembley on the tube to get a seat and then, when we got on the tube to go to Baker Street, we were made to wait about 30 minutes in Wembley and then another 30 minutes of waiting before even reaching Finchley Road just on the tracks waiting for an ‘uncommunicative train’.”
Transport for London has been contacted for comment.
This weekend Taylor performed two shows at Wembley Arena, the first of which was attended by Prince William and his children. Many celebrities, including her boyfriend Travis Kelce and pal Cara Delevingne, attended the highly-anticipated gig.
The Prince of Wales, as well as Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are also clearly huge fans as they posed for a selfie with the singer on Friday evening. The Shake It Off musician, 34, took to her Instagram page to wish the Prince a happy birthday with a selfie taken with him, his children and Travis.
She wrote: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start,” alongside an American flag and Union Jack flag emoji.
