RYANAIR is launching a new route between the UK and a winter sun holiday hotspot.
The budget airline will launch a twice-weekly service from Newcastle Airport to Marrakesh later this year.
Direct services will start operating between the two cities from October 27, 2024.
The twice-weekly services will operate every Wednesday and Sunday.
Outbound services on a Wednesday will leave Newcastle Airport at 1.35pm before arriving in Morocco at 6.35pm.
The return flights will then leave Marrakesh at 7pm, landing back in the UK at 10pm.
Flight times for Sunday services are a little different, with outbound flights from the UK departing at 7am.
Sunday return flights will then leave Morocco at 12.25pm, arriving back in the UK four hours later at 3.25pm.
The Marrakesh route will mark the airline’s 19th destination from Newcastle Airport.
Tickets are already on sale, with one-way fares starting from £59.99 per person.
Temperatures in Morocco have been known to reach 35C in October – although temperatures are likely to be somewhere between 24C and 30C.
Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development, said: “I am delighted to see further investment from Ryanair with the addition of new flights to Marrakesh from Newcastle Airport.
“Marrakesh has fast become one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers who are attracted to the city’s stunning ancient architecture, bustling souk markets and amazing cuisine.
“This investment underlines Ryanair’s confidence in our airport and their commitment to providing even more choice for passengers.”
As Brits prepare to head into the summer holiday season, the budget airline has just launched a range of brand-new cocktails to serve onboard.
The new cocktails start from €9.50 (£8) per drink, with seven different options to choose from.
Drinks like the Dublin Lemonade (Jameson Irish Whiskey, Sprite Zero and sparkling water), the Fruit Snack, (Bombay Sapphire Gin, Sprite Zero and Capri-sun), the Rose Spritz (rose wine and Sprite Zero) and the Tropical Spritz (Bacardi Rum and Fanta Orange) cost €9.50 (£8).
While the other three cocktails (The Flying Iced Tea, the Tennessee Surfer and the French 75) cost €14 (£11.85) a pop.
