Elliot Dee is set to miss Wales’ tour of Australia, with uncapped Cardiff hooker Efan Daniel being considered as a replacement.
The experienced Dragons hooker has been struggling with an ankle injury which has prompted the Wales management to call Daniel into the training squad. Warren Gatland initially named four hookers in his training squad in Dewi Lake, Evan Lloyd, Dee and Sam Parry.
Daniel, 21, is a travelling reserve for Wales’ clash with South Africa at Twickenham tomorrow and is a serious contender to tour Australia. There are also doubts over the fitness of tighthead Henry Thomas, who was pulled out of the Wales side to face the Springboks due to a foot injury, while Dillon Lewis is also struggling.

As a result of this Gatland has called uncapped Ospreys tighthead Ben Warren into the training squad with the 24-year-old also a travelling reserve tomorrow. Wales also have Keiron Assiratti, Harri O’Connor and Archie Griffin as tighthead options.
Second-row Cory Hill is also not 100 per cent fit and was not considered for the South Africa Test because of a calf issue.
Wales were also dealt an injury blow in the back-three when Keelan Giles was ruled out of the Australia tour with a groin injury prompting Gatland to call-up former rugby league superstar Regan Grace who has never played a competitive game of professional rugby union.
