ALL You Need Is Grub when you turn 82, just ask Paul McCartney.
The Beatles legend shunned a big celebrity birthday bash and instead headed for a low-key dinner at a posh restaurant.
Insiders told me how Paul was joined by his wife Nancy and his five children at the 17th century Boys Hall hotel in Ashford, Kent, and shocked other guests who spotted them.
A source said: “Paul and his family booked a private room.
“They were quietly ushered in on Tuesday night and were taken to the Drawing Room, where the chefs cooked a three-course feast for them.
“It was super low-key, just Paul and his closest family members. He looked really happy and seemed to be enjoying a quieter celebration. They left just after 10.30pm.”

Given he’s approaching the big 9-0, I can’t blame Paul for wanting a more muted celebration.
But he still does love a good party.
I remember at Glastonbury two years ago, after he became the festival’s oldest solo headliner, he threw a massive bash afterwards and was still going strong at 3am.
As well as his daughters Stella and Mary, Paul had stars including actors Woody Harrelson and Kate Hudson plus supermodel Kate Moss backstage with him.
An onlooker told me at the time: “Paul was on a massive high and he had a party backstage. It was like a who’s who of the celebs at Worthy Farm. And Paul was one of the last men standing.”
I’m much more likely to be the first to hit the hay – and I’m five decades younger.
Bravo, Paul.
BILLY RAY TAKES AIM AT EX
BILLY Ray Cyrus has claimed his estranged wife tried to “isolate” him from his family amid his feud with his daughter Miley.
The Achy Breaky Heart singer filed for divorce from his third wife, singer Firerose, in May after just seven months of marriage.
And he is now making a series of claims against her.
In legal documents filed in the US, he said she was “conducting a campaign to isolate” him from his family and claims she blocked “at least one” of his daughters from contacting him on his phone.
That is believed to be pop superstar Miley, who he has not been on good terms with since getting together with Firerose.
Elsewhere in the documents, he alleges that she lied about being married before and also claims she “knowingly, wilfully and intentionally committed fraud” to marry him so she could get the Cyrus surname.
Aussie Firerose is claiming he “ambushed” her by filing for divorce the day before she was set to have a double mastectomy.
And she is accusing Billy of “extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse” during their marriage.
This sounds very messy indeed.
Kath’s Taylor made
KATHERINE Jenkins was ready to Shake It Off in this get-up as she arrived at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium to see Taylor Swift.
The opera singer wowed in her country-style – and completed the look with Taylor’s 1989 album T-shirt.
The US superstar made her latest stop in the Welsh capital on Tuesday and delighted the crowd by learning the lingo, using the word for hello, “shwmae”. Later on she said: “Cardiff, croeso i’r daith Eras,” which means, “Welcome to the Eras tour.”
She heads to London’s Wembley Stadium for three nights from tomorrow, before boomeranging back in August.
The Eras Tour ends in December so I’m excited to see what she does next.
‘KARAOKE GOT ME A STEPS UP’
COVERS of Bee Gees hit Tragedy and Diana Ross’s Chain Reaction gave them huge success, now Steps’ Claire Richards has revealed how her career in karaoke contests saw her get her big break.
The One For Sorrow singer explained: “I must have only been about 15 or 16 and The Heath Tavern started a karaoke night, which no one went to.
“Eventually there was an inter-brewery competition and I won that.
“I won a trip to New York but I was, like, 17 so I begged them to give me the money instead. Then I got barred from the competition because they said I wasn’t giving anyone a chance.
She added on the Table Manners podcast: “I won another competition and the prize was a recording session, where I made my demo tape, which is what I sent off to get in Steps.”
This autumn she will tour her Everybody Dance show, where she covers tunes by legends including Cher, Whitney Houston and Beyonce.
Beats karaoke around my place, trust me.
Noel gets all shirty
NOEL Gallagher has thrown his support behind his beloved Man City by adding to the design of their new kit.
The lifelong City fan will have his handwriting scrawled on the back of all the team’s shirts for their games in the 2024/25 campaign.
He wrote out every name and number for the squad – including Erling Haaland’s, with fans also being able to get their own name printed on a shirt in his writing.
Lucky they didn’t ask me to do it. No one can read my handwriting.
