HOAX: This Roofings Group job advert is fake

Must read

Roofings Group has disowned the ad.

This Facebook post advertising job vacancies at Roofings Group is a HOAX.

The poster, also shared here, alleges that Roofings Group is recruiting staff in its manufacturing branches and distribution outlets across the country.

According to the ad, the construction company purportedly seeks to hire shift supervisors, plant maintenance mechanics, plant maintenance electricians, ICT support staff, laboratory technicians, administrative officers, account clerks, store assistants, truck drivers, records assistants, and plumbers.

The advertisement recommends that applicants hold at least a diploma or professional certificate in a related field. Drivers should have a valid driving license with the relevant class.

Additionally, interested applicants are required to send their cover letter, curriculum vitae and academic documents to a Gmail account; roofingscareersug@gmail.com.

However, the advertisement is fake. One red flag is that applicants are asked to send their CVs to a Gmail account, while the company’s emails end with its website domain, ‘@roofingsgroup.com’.

Roofings Group warned on its social media platforms, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), that the advert was fake.

“Please be mindful of the fake job advert circulating on social media. To access job openings at Roofings Group, please visit www.roofingsgroup.com/jobs,” the company posted on social media.

Additionally, the alleged vacancies in the advert are non-existent on the official Roofings Group website.

The poster indicates the alleged ad was purportedly published on page 24 of the New Vision’s 10 June 2024 edition. However, a review of the publication shows the content on Page 24 was about the “Pass O’level Competence-Based Curriculum,” not a job advertisement.
