Prince William marked Father’s Day with King Charles in a huge break from tradition.
The Prince of Wales took to social media with a throwback photograph of himself and his father, taken before Prince Harry was born.
William captioned the post: “Happy Father’s Day, Pa. W.”
The photograph was taken on June 12, 1984, shortly before Prince William’s second birthday.

In the picture, a young Prince William could be seen playing football with King Charles, then the Prince of Wales.
William’s choice to share this photograph on Father’s Day marks a huge change in tradition, given that in recent years Princess Kate has shared a picture of her husband with his own three children.
For example, last year Prince William smiled at the camera with his arms around Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who looked up adoringly at their father.
Meanwhile, Prince Louis stood behind William with a giant grin and his arms wrapped around him.
