The airport with the cheapest as well as the most expensive airfare has been revealed.
A new study by FinanceBuzz has revealed the most and least expensive airports to fly out of in the US, focusing on the 45 busiest airports and base domestic airfare prices (excluding fees).
For the third year running, Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) claims the top spot for priciest flights, averaging a hefty $488.90.
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) follows closely behind at $444.59, also holding onto its second-place position for three years.
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) rounds out the top three with an average fare of $438.34.

Rounding out the top five most expensive airports are Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), averaging $436.80 and $427.05 respectively.
On the flip side, budget-conscious travelers will want to flock to Orlando International Airport (MCO) taking the crown for affordability with an average fare of just $265.58.
This is the first time since 2018 that Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas has not held the title for most affordable.
Another Florida contender, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), boasts the second-lowest average fare at $271.78, closely followed by LAS at $272.15.
Rounding out the top five most affordable airports are Oakland International Airport (OAK) at $303.79 and Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) at $308.27.
The study also found a positive trend – a 3.1% decrease in average national airfare after adjusting for inflation from 2022 to 2023.
In 2023, the average domestic airfare came in at $381.32, compared to the inflation-adjusted average of $393.14 in 2022.
