This is the incredible moment when Scotland fans burst into song as a piper began playing ‘Super John McGinn’ to the delighted crowd.
The Tartan Army have been soaking up the atmosphere in Munich ahead of our glamour opener against host country Germany on Friday.
Those who arrived early headed straight to the Marienplatz to enjoy the sun and guzzle steins – and it didn’t take long for the supporters to begin singing the usual chants.
At one corner of the square Matthew Clachner, Josh Mcrae, 28, PJ Cowe, 32 and Dylan Marshall, 22 – fresh off the plane after travelling from Peterhead – got chatting to piper Fraser Smith.
Soon enough the bagpipes were out as the group began clapping and singing “…he’s better than Zidane, we’ve got super John McGinn.”

Scots in kilts and national team tops raced over to join in – and within seconds a swarm of local Germans had their cameras out too as they began filming and clapping along with the Tartan Army.
Speaking after things calmed down, piper Fraser explained how he picked up playing the instrument as soon as we qualified for Euro 2024.
The 17-year-old mechanical engineer student told the Record: “I’ve played on and off since I was seven-year-old but I hadn’t done so for years. I picked it back up especially for the Euros.
“The reaction has been amazing. As soon as I played them everyone just came in from all around to watch. It was an amazing feeling.
“For the past six months I’ve just been playing non-stop practicing. I’ve even learnt the German national anthem too.
“We’ve got tickets for the game but I didn’t apply for a licence to use the pipes there. It’s quite difficult to get the permission so I decided just to enjoy the match.”
