Further arrests in murder probe after man stabbed outside shopping centre

Police have made two further arrests after a man was stabbed outside a shopping centre. Tom Ellis died in hospital after he suffered fatal injuries in Nuneaton.

The 25-year-old tragically died after the incident outside the Ropewalk shopping centre, in Queen’s Road, shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday, June 8. Two boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of murder overnight.




It follows the arrests of two other boys, aged 14 and 15, who had previously been arrested on suspicion of murder. All four suspects remain in custody.

Warwickshire Police said there are still key witnesses they need to speak to, including anyone who was passing through Queens Road between 9:15pm and 9:30pm on June 8.

Chief Inspector Kris Shore, policing commander for North Warwickshire, said: “We have made significant progress in our investigation having identified four suspects within 72 hours and brought them into custody. We have several cordons in place in Nuneaton at the moment while police searches take place.

“We continue to support Tom’s family and keep them updated with the latest developments. There are still some key witnesses we need to speak to so if you can help us to identify them, please contact us as soon as possible.”
