Train services in and out of London Paddington are suffering “major disruption” as emergency services respond to a casualty on the tracks.

There are currently severe delays on the Elizabeth line between Hayes & Harlington and Reading with minor delays between Paddington and Heathrow, according to TfL.

Great Western Railway services between Paddington and Reading are also affected.

National Rail Enquiries is warning trains running between these stations may be cancelled, majorly delayed by up to 65 minutes or revised.

It says disruption is currently expected to last until 6pm.

Damage to the overhead wires was discovered yesterday between Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park, closing some lines.

Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Elizabeth Line disruption to continue until 5pm

Lines have reopened following an incident earlier between London Paddington and Reading.

Trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised, says National Rail.

Trains running between Stevenage and London are facing 30 minute delays.

National Rail has warned that damage to overhead wires was discovered on Sunday between Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park, closing some lines.

Grand Central, Great Northern, LNER, Lumo, Thameslink and Hull Trains services have been affected.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Commuters ‘stuck’ due to disruption

Commuters have been asking Great Western Railway for advice due to the disruption.

One passenger has said they are “stuck at Paddington” and asked for directions to get to Reading.

Travelers are being advised to take the tube and head to London Waterloo or to London Marylebone.

There are also severe delays between Paddington and Heathrow Terminals while emergency services deal with the incident.

There is a good service on the rest of the line.

TfL said tickets will be accepted on London Underground any reasonable route.
