A man has been allegedly assaulted and tortured with a golf club over an horrific 24-hour ordeal which left him with a broken jaw and ribs.
Emergency services were called to a home in Rawson Road, Guildford in Sydney at about 4.55pm on Sunday after reports of an assault.
Police confirmed a 46-year-old man who had multiple face and chest injuries was found by officers at the property.
After being treated at the scene by paramedics, the 46-year-old was taken to Westmead Hospital after the blunt force trauma he suffered left him in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established and a 62-year-old man has been arrested and helping police with their inquiries

A 62-year-old man was arrested at the Guildford property and was taken to Granville Police station.
He is assisting police with their inquiries.
A crime scene has been established by police officers and their investigations into the incident are ongoing.
