Update: Away tickets

Must read

We have provided an important update regarding away ticketing arrangements for 2024-25 and beyond.

In acknowledgement of the fact that away ends are now nearing capacity or selling out on a regular basis, and with it being unfeasible for us to implement a fair and robust loyalty points system until 2025-26, we recently invited supporters to complete a survey to help guide our decision on how to allocate priority access to away tickets next season.

The following options were presented:

  1. Introduce a 2024-25 away membership, which would give fans the opportunity to guarantee themselves priority access to tickets for all regular away league matches
  2. Continue with the current system, where all season ticket holders are given the opportunity to buy one ticket each ahead of general sale

More than 1700 supporters completed the survey, with a majority (62%) stating their preference for option 2. This percentage rose to 67% when only responses from 2024-25 season ticket holders were considered.

We will therefore continue to implement option 2 in 2024-25, while continuing to prepare to introduce the loyalty points system in 2025-26 – full details of which will follow in due course.

As we begin to move towards this change in approach, we strongly advise all supporters to familiarise themselves with the below guidance so they can ensure their 2024-25 away purchase history is accurately recorded.

How to collect loyalty points in 2024-25

Online

  • Individual bookers will have their purchase history automatically applied to their account each time they buy a ticket
  • Supporters booking on behalf of others must add each supporter to their network and assign the relevant supporter number to each ticket at the point of purchase
    • If these steps aren’t followed, those whose supporter numbers weren’t assigned to a ticket will miss out on their purchase history being recorded

From our ticket office (in person or phone)

  • Individual bookers will be able to supply their supporter number and have their purchase history applied to their account at the point of purchase
  • Those booking on behalf of others must provide supporter numbers for each member of their party at the point of purchase
    • If these steps aren’t followed, those whose supporter numbers weren’t assigned to a ticket will miss out on their purchase history being recorded
    • If one or more members of the group does not have a ticketing account, and therefore no supporter number, the lead booker must supply the relevant name, address and date of birth in order for that individual’s purchase history to be recorded

From the host club

  • We intend to exclusively handle all away ticket sales next season
  • However, in the event that any sales are handled by the host club, we will be unable to allocate any purchase history to the supporter’s account

Other key points

  • No booking fees will apply to away ticket orders in 2024-25 – making online the cheapest and easiest method of buying away tickets and recording purchase history
  • Lead bookers cannot accrue more than one loyalty point per match
    • For example, a supporter who purchases multiple tickets for one match without allocating individual supporter numbers to the remaining tickets cannot claim the equivalent number of loyalty points to the number of tickets purchased
  • Purchase history can only be recorded at the time of booking
    • We will be unable to retrospectively allocate loyalty points once the transaction has been completed
  • Comprehensive details about the loyalty points system will follow in due course
