Almost 38,000 people have travelled to the Island by ferry for this year’s TT.

The Steam Packet has just released the figures.

It’s the highest number of passengers carried to the races since 1986, outside the 2007 Centenary festival.

During this year’s festival, 37,808 people have used the ferry service between 22 May and 7 June 2024.

Among those arriving were 13,385 motorbikes and 5,488 cars and vans.

The numbers are up by 11 percent compared to last year.

More freight’s been brought to the Island too which has seen a 15 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Managing director of SPC Brian Thomson says “We are exceptionally pleased to bring even more racing fans to the island and Manxman’s larger capacity and high-quality facilities has been absolutely vital to these fantastic results.

It was Manxman’s inaugural TT service and we have received great feedback from visitors travelling on the flagship vessel.

Thanks go to the whole IOMSPC team who have been outstanding working round the clock to ensure customers enjoy their journey with us.

During the 2007 TT Centenary Event, 47,230 passengers travelled to the island on five passenger vessels, three of which were specially chartered for the special anniversary event.

You can see a table comparing previous years below.
