Tottenham have announced the release of Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic from their first-team squad.

Dier and Perisic spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich and Hajduk Split respectively – with both moves set to be made permanent this summer.

Academy graduate Tanganga had loan spells at FC Augsburg and Millwall, while Sessegnon, who signed for £25million from Fulham, sat out most of the campaign through injury.

All four players are out of contract at Spurs on June 30 and the club have confirmed they will leave thereafter.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Tottenham said: “We can confirm the departures of Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic following the conclusion of their contracts.

“We thank Japhet, Ryan, Eric and Ivan for their service to the Club and wish them all the very best for the future.”

Dyer will join ex-Tottenham striker Harry Kane in facing their former club with Bayern twice this summer.

The former England international made 365 appearances for Spurs, scoring 13 goal and bagging 12 assists in that time.

The defender came on as a substitute in their Champions League final loss against Liverpool in 2019.

Meanwhile, Sessegnon made 57 appearances following his move in 2021, scoring three goals.

He also had a loan spell in Germany with Hoffenheim in 2020/21.

He played just twice this season. The 24-year-old required surgery on a hamstring injury sustained in the first week of pre-season training last summer.

He made a brief comeback in the FA Cup win over Burnley back in January but then picked up a hamstring problem for the Under-21s which ultimately ended his campaign.

Writing a message on his Instagram, Sessegnon said: “Spurs, thank you. I would like to thank everyone associated with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. I joined at 19 ad have met some very special people along the way that have supported and guided me.

“From my teammates, to the backroom staff to my coaches – thank you! I’ve got memories and friends for life. From making my debut to scoring in the Champions League. I’ll always cherish these moments.

“Unfortunately things didn’t work out the way I or the club wanres during my time here. It broke my heart that I couldn’t play in front of you a lot more.

“I want to wish you all the best for the future. Thank you. Sess.”

Perisic, who joined the club in 2022, made 50 appearances for Spurs, with Tanganga making the same number.

Club captain Heung-min Son posted a photo of each of the departing senior players on his Instagram story, along with a white heart emoji.

Development Squad players Billy Heaps and Charlie Sayers, plus Under-18s duo Kieran Morgan and Han Willhoft-King, are also departing the club.
