A major high street chain has axed its rewards scheme – leaving fans with “no reason to shop” there. High street game retailer and console seller Game, owned and run by the Frasers Group, is closing its Game Reward and Game Elite programmes within weeks.
Game will shutter its long-running reward programme on 31 July 2024, the chain has announced. This applies to the standard Reward scheme and also the Elite membership tier. No further reward points will be earned from purchases made in stores or the retailer’s website from two weeks’ earlier – on 15 July.
As of 31 July, you will no longer be able to redeem reward points, either. “We would strongly urge you to redeem your Game reward points prior to the closure date on purchases in game store or online to avoid disappointment,” Game wrote today.

“After the closure date, Game reward points will be reset to zero and the reward account will be closed, you will no longer be able to access it and you will no longer be able to redeem your reward points.” It adds: “The closure of Elite will also mean the closure of monthly Elite offers and also prize draws and promotions that Elite Members are eligible to enter
“We understand that this decision shall raise some questions and have answered as many of these as possible below.” It says: “Any pre-order purchases made prior to the Closure Date where you have used Game Reward points in whole or in part in order to purchase the product will not be affected by the closure of Reward. You will still receive your order.”
Reward points prior to the Closure Date can be redeemed in standalone stores or online at www.game.co.uk After the deadline, cards should be “destroyed”, the chain has gone on to warn its consumers and customer base up and down the country.
