Wyndham City is calling all women aged 18 and over living or working in the West, to take up a free 10-week health program that takes a holistic approach to improving their health and wellbeing.
Wyndham City is partnering with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation and Western Leisure Services to deliver the informative, fun and hands-on workshop for women at Eagle Stadium and will provide participants with the tools and knowledge to improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing through a series of workshops, presentations and events in a supportive environment.
Wyndham City’s Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera, said: “The program will begin on 17 July and will run for 10 weeks. Each session is approximately two hours, where participants hear from various experts each week on a range of health topics, including nutrition, social inclusion, and mental fitness.”
“Following the educational component of the program, participants engage in various activities designed to build connection with one another. This is then followed by exercise sessions at a level tailored to each participants’ ability, ensuring everyone has the chance to get moving.”
“We’ve been able to help thousands of women over the years on their health and wellbeing journey through Daughters of the West and we look forward to taking more women on that journey in 2024.”
“The program is such an inclusive and supportive space, and we welcome women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to register.”
“Whether you’re looking for new ways to proactively improve your health, some tips on how to get active or make new connections in your community, this program is for you”.
“So often the support of others helps us on our health and wellbeing journey. This program helps create a sense of community – I encourage those new to Wyndham and those looking to broaden their support group to join.” said Cr Barrera
