Real Madrid staff were reportedly unimpressed with the actions of stewards at Wembley following their Champions League final triumph over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Madrid were on the back foot for the majority of the game but made Dortmund pay for their missed chances in the latter stages of the second half.

Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr struck to see Los Blancos secure the biggest prize in European football for a 15th time.

There were great celebrations at Wembley after the final whistle but Madrid believe they were hampered by the behaviour of ‘heavy-handed’ stewards, according to The Times.

Stadium security are said to have prevented designated family and friends from entering the pitch to enjoy the moment.

Two of the Spanish side’s own contracted security detail were also restrained in the stands as confusion mounted over who was allowed to enter the pitch following the trophy lift.

The club have not raised an official complaint but the report states that Real staff believe the celebrations were spoilt.

Wembley declined to comment on the situation but it is believed that they are content with the stewarding at the game.

Police confirmed arrests were made after the game was halted inside the opening minute as three separate pitch invaders evaded security.

Huge favourites going in to the game, the Spanish side were outplayed for long periods but broke Dortmund’s resistance with late goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr.

Veteran right back Carvajal glanced in a header from a Toni Kroos corner in the 74th minute and from that moment Carlo Ancelotti’s side sparked into life.

Vinicius slid home Real’s second in the 83rd minute to silence the yellow-clad Dortmund fans who had created a wall of noise throughout the final.

It was hard on the German side who missed several good first-half chances, the best of which saw Niclas Fuellkrug hit the post from close range.
